KOTANYI was founded with passion for cooking and discovery by Janos KOTANYI in 1881.
Fascinated by the alchemy of the spices, their delicacy of aroma and flavor, he decided to create first his own Paprika mill. There he created his own secret Sweet Paprika recipe. This paprika blends was so fine that Kotányi was appointed “Imperial and Royal Purveyor to the Court” in Austria. Short after that he fulfilled his dream to expend his Paprika mill to a spices and herbs mill. He Started then to source the most exotic flavors from all over the world to bring then to Europe.
The company’s secrets and ownership was transmitted through generation in order to preserve the driving passion for quality, pilar of Kotanyi success during the past 127 years. Today KOTANYI’s Spices, herbs and seasoning are sold in more than 20 Countries in central and eastern Europe, south America as well as in China.
